Does anyone have any thoughts on what this might be? Taken in central lowland France, May 2011. I know the photo isn't good enough to get a species, but I thought one of the experienced Bombylid people could give me some possible genera, although it's probably just a tatty old B. major. It was quite small, but not so small as to preclude this. It was a bit late in the season for B. major I thought though.
