I found this specimen last week among some papered moths from PNG that I collected in 1976-79. After relaxing it has mounted quite well and appears to be a Chrysopilus sp. Looking at the latest catalogue of the region I see that there is only one species of Rhagionidae recorded from PNG (!!) and that is Chrysopilus ferruginosus which has a very wide Old World distribution, and I wonder if that is what my species is. Unfortunately I can't find any description of this species which would help me to confirm it. Can anyone help please? Incidentally, there are more Chrysopilus spp. recorded from Irian Jaya, aka West Papua, etc., etc. which is the Western half of the island of New Guinea and so I'd be very surprised if there is, in fact, only one species present in PNG.
