Hi, which species can be confused with E.pennipes? I have something here clearly not E.pennipes but with femora well-bristled like E.pennipes, but genitalia are different from species identified by a third party in my collection (so: I dont know nothing of Empididae and I lack literature for this group...) Its an Empis for shure (not Rhamphomyia, it has a long and slender proboscis). Thanks in advance Edited by jonas on 18-10-2012 10:03 |

It depends on where the specimens are from. In NW Europe there are not too many (most will be smaller species and females usually will have no pennation on the fore legs), but in Central and Southern Europe there may be quite a few.
