 about 8 mm; collected in San Ignacio, Cayo District, between Jan 1 to 4 2009

probably my favorite fly from the trip; further ID possible?

Subjects: Taxonomy, Systematics, Biodiversity.
Area: Neotropical Region, Caatinga.
Families: Ctenostylidae, Cypselosomatidae, Helosciomyzidae, Micropezidae, Muscidae, Neriidae, Pseudopomyzidae, Syringogastridae, Somatiidae.
