On the offchance that my inability to identify flies at the most basic level was not already clear, there follow a number which I can't even begin to attempt family on. I will say that this looks a little like a rather bald Bombyliidae, but seeing as there will follow quite a few images of which I thought the same, I'm not going to commit to that. Place: near Chunga, Central Province, Zambia Habitat: Lawn, amongst Miombo/succeeding Savannah. Size - 9-11 mm.
