DD 18(2) has just been published. It includes a revision of West Palaearctic Pipizella by van Steenis and Lucas (with descriptions of five new species!); and an account by Williams, Toussidou and Speight of hoverflies new to Greece from the Rhodope Mountains, including Simosyrphus scutellaris new to Europe. Maintaining the syrphid bias of this issue, Chandler gives an intriguing account of "The hazards of hoverfly names", but there is also a fascinating paper by Pont on the life of G.H.Verrall.
