I have met this Doli yesterday on 31 Dec on my dinner plate with a meat dish. I have caught it today on 1 Jan by use of my champagne glass within my kitchen in a small wooden house nr. St.Petersburg. I have grasped my hand camera and snapped the fly within the glass. I am serious despite some drinking. I guess it is a female of Dolichopus plumipes that has awakened because of very warm December (+5.6 centigrades above norm, i.e. +1.9 monthly average. I shall check identification and the species overwintering later. Nevertheless, the incident is surprising for me and Happy New Year for all Diptera.Info subscribers and good luck.

Unfortunatly the female has died. I have ID it as
Dolichopus longicornis Stannius, 1831
It seems that the species was not reported as wintering in imago stage.
