Hello, I found this fly dead in the water of a pound in the north of Morocco, in the rif, about 1700 meters above the sea, in a forest of Cedrus atlantica and Abies maroccana. Does anyone know the family, subfamily, tribe, genus or specie? If more photos are needed I have. Thanks. MY COLLECTION IN: http://www.taxateca.com/ordendiptera.html |

Female Chironomidae, probably Chironomini. Most keys don't work for females. Experts can often ID female Chironominae to genus by the shape of the pronotum and spurs and hairs on tips of the tibiae. |
