Hello, I found this fly dead in the water of a pound in the north of Morocco, in the rif, about 1700 meters above the sea, in a forest of Cedrus atlantica and Abies maroccana. Does anyone know the family, subfamily, tribe, genus or specie? Thanks. Carlos Galan attached the following image: ![]() [29.12Kb] MY COLLECTION IN: http://www.taxateca.com/ordendiptera.html |

Guessing at Anthomyiidae (female), the anepimeral (I think) seta made me think of Emmesomyia. Are the tibiae yellow? A dorsal view of the thorax might help too. |

No, it was a wild guess and almost certainly wrong - sorry! You have not yet told us the size of the fly. |
