This species of Merodon was caught on a cliff edge in tall grasses near the forest edge.

Label info: France; Jura; Doucier/Val dessus/26-6 t/m 8-7-2011

I have tried to key this specimen out with Van Veen 2004 and Marcos-García et al 2007, both yielding unsatisfying results,
Can anyone help me identify this species correctly and the literature used for the identification?

Greets,

Ectemnius

Looks like something of the Merodon cinereus complex which is currently under revision (Ante Vujic and co-workers).

Indeed, and if you want a sure ID in the end you should get it to Ante Vujic in Serbia.
