Any ideas on this Lispocephala ? I know falculata is unlikely in Belgium, but to me it seems the best fit (from Leuven, Belgium, 14-03-2002). Joris

Nobody any idea ? L falculata would be new species for Belgium, so I wouldn't mind getting a second opinion ... Joris

Another picture from another ex. from the same locality:

I work with Muscidae, but I never plunged deep into this genus (yet). So, I can only agree that it seems rather falculata or ungulata than alma (was erythrocera (error)) according avaiable keys...

Cercal plate seems to small for L. alma.
I think L. spuria can be a good possibility...
(also crossveins infuscated + last tars of t1 also dark)

Crossveins are not infuscated for L. spuria...

Oké, not infuscated, but marked dark..Wink
,.. a bit doubtful on the photo, but it also seems to me that antennae are not black. (whole black in L. alma)
Maybe a photo can be added from the front of the head...

I did indeed not consider spuria due to infuscated cross-veins. Here a head-on picture. I think the flagellomere is completely black (unless it is very narrowly yellow).

I hadn't sufficiently considered ungulata either, but I think - if I am looking at the right part of the genitalia, I can exclude that one based on simple tip of the parameres:

I guess that leaves only falculata ...

Good picture of parameres. I agree with Lispocephala falculata.
