Of course, now I see it. There are even some small patches of orange on the scutellum. At the time I took the photos I should also have noticed the size (valida are normally larger than other Phaonia species) but it was over a year ago and I don't remember. Male valida seem to be rarer than females: I have photos of several females in my collection but only this one male. Edited by tristram on 02-11-2011 22:42 |

The scutellum isn't very yellow for a male P. valida...
