Thank you for ID, Andrzej. These ...myzidae families are really confusing for me. Best regards, Marion |

Hmm, looks like a very dark female of Opomyza florum. I've seen dark specimens of this species before, but never this dark! You happen to have collected the specimen? Jan Willem van Zuijlen |

Thank you for species ID, Jan Willem. Sorry, I did not collect. The fly was relatively dark and brownish colored. Darkness of pictures depends on the monitor and the post-treatment of photos always done by the camera and sometimes additionally by the photographer. I did lighten the pictures for internet and enhanced slightly the contrast. Marion |

Hello, Jan Willem! Jan Willem wrote: Hmm, looks like a very dark female of Opomyza florum. I've seen dark specimens of this species before, but never this dark! Is it possible, that this species darkens before overwintering? It is numerous in our garden, and during the summer it is light brown. Dark specimens I only find in the cold season at the house walls etc. Best regards, Jürgen -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Juergen Peters Borgholzhausen, Germany WWW: http://insektenfo... -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= |
