Hello, this fly was drowned in a pond in Morocco, in the natural park of Talassemtane, about 1500 meters above the sea level. Was abundant in the area. I have several specimens preserved in alcohol if necessary to see some characters for the determination. This is a Sepsis species, might even be fulgens but I do not know if that species does occur there. You might send a male (with such protruberances on the fore legs) for confirmation. If you say abundant, do you mean a aggregation of many specimens on a relatively small surface (a 'swarm' . Such aggregations are know for Sepsis fulgens (only).
