Could anyone help identifying this Limoniidae? It was found yesterday in Yerseke, the Netherlands. I have problems in identifying it, because R1 seems to turn down in crossvein r?? So i can't find the subfamily. It is about 4,5 mm in length.Pictures in this link: http://waarneming...w/61107604 Thanks in advance Edited by nielsyese on 06-10-2011 16:53 |

Dicranomyia (Melanolimonia) morio, male. Structure of the hypopygium, although not clearly seen, and yellow bands in the abdomen are distinctive. This is not very rare in S Finland, in swamps (both fresh and brackish) and rich fens. Occasional specimens also from northern Finland. -Jukka Salmela |
