I was told this is a Minettia sp. Any chance to get the species? Taken at Gijon, coastal N Spain on the 10th September 2011. In a garden near urban area. Thanks in advance!

Your fly resembles mine (http://www.dipter...ost_184340) and has no presutural dorsicentral bristles as well. So it might also be Minettia longiseta, but I do not know the Spanish Lauxaniids! Regards, Sundew |

Thanks a bunch, Sundew! At least it is something and certainly Minettia longiseta can be found in Spain! The only trouble is that there are another 17 species of Minettia here!! ![]() If I only know that Minettia longiseta is distinctive enough, that good be real good news ![]() But you have given me the hint to start my research Thanks a lot!! |
