 This apparently hairless hoverfly was photographed at Stronmilchan, Argyll, Scotland. Jun 28 2011.

I'm not even sure if I have the right family – can anyone offer advice? Thanks, David.

 No, Andre, this is certainly not variabilis. It belongs to subgenus Taeniocheilosia (=Nigrocheilosia). No idea which species.
