Hello, this is an Asilidae from the north of Spain, on a river vegetation. ¿Does anybody know the genus or the specie? THANKS. http://imagensubida.infojardin.com/subida/images/cqs1316110028n.jpg Edited by Carlos Galan on 15-09-2011 19:26 MY COLLECTION IN: http://www.taxateca.com/ordendiptera.html |

Seems like a Machimus/Tolmerus sp. to me.

Thanks a lot Leptogaster. ¿Do you know how can I differentiate between the two genus?

I dont think that can be done from pictures. Usually Machimus are bigger with more setae on margin scutellum. Don't forget genus Neoepitriptus is also part of this group. I get the impression they are in between the others. Think difference ![]() Greetings, Reinoud Field guide to the robber flies of the Netherlands and Belgium: https://www.jeugdbondsuitgeverij.nl/product/field-guide-to-the-robberflies-of-the-netherlands-and-belgium/ https://www.nev.nl/diptera/ |
