Well, I think it is Muscidae, but I am not sure. I have seen it several times, which makes me think it is common, but never managed a decent picture. Hope somebody can help with the ID. Thanks in advance!

Taken in the mountains of Madrid on the 6th August 2011.

The picture has been very reduced. If more detail is required, I can provide it. Thanks!

It looks like Calliphoridae to me (Protophormia/Protocalliphora?) but wait for expert opinion.

With this obvious greenish tinge this is almost for sure a female of Protocalliphora azurea.

Stephane, what you do need to see to be sure? Just in case I have a picture where it shows. I have more shots.

Well, to be sure I would need more complete documentation of southern species in case it could exist other greenish female species.
Stephane.

Thanks a lot, Stephane!!

I see, it is the lack of information about southern species which bring the doubt. The neverending problem for Paqui and me Wink
