 UK Tachinidae Ligeria angusticornis?

UK, Suffolk. Mixed habitat, on leaves of young oak tree, marshland nearby. This morning, 5th Sep 2011. Size 3-4mm I nearly ignored this as a rhinophorid, but the strong white calypters and large antennae stood out as a tachinid. I think it keys nicely to Ligeria angusticornis  Steve |

Its good to still find new species for me this far on in the season. Do you have any other September records for Ligeria? Steve |

Generally speaking it's a really rare species so records are going to be a bit sparse and phenology is difficult to assess reliably. On my new-look website I bring together the various publications and NBN mapping: http://tachinidae...amp;t=name I am guessing that September records here will be rare but possible, if they have them in Europe
