Hello, this one's so curious for me as it doesn´t fit with any of this 3: A. monilis, A. phatta, A. longistyla because it´s abdomen's so pale (even dorsal view has no spot)! It seems all those 3 have black-dark bands on the terguites. Theres a 4th species recorded in Spain, A. dusoleili. The other 2 species at Faunaeur.org are far from Spain. Thje pic was taken by Miguel Yuste http://www.biodiv...earch.html- In Segovia (Central Spain) - next to fruit trees, a river, Populus and Ulmus - 806m - 19th. june I see it has the spotted wings and the legs with rings, so I think It´s Ablabesmyia, but, could it be A. dusoleili ?? It's a female Ablabesmyia. In America females of the genus are not identifiable to species, and most males are only identifiable with slide mounts. If I saw this in America I would say subgenus Karelia based on the wing spot pattern (location of spot in m cell). There are no described European species in the subgenus but Roback (1971) mentioned some undescribed species from Austria. |
