I found this small cranefly in the Netherlands and after studying different wingdraw's i though it was a Erioptera cana. But that one only lives in America. Who can help me finding the correct name? Thanks Jan. |

This is most probably Symplecta (Symplecta) hybrida (Meigen, 1804), a species very widespread in the Holarctic and the Orient. Nice pictures were posted on Diptera-info by Dmityr Gravyushin on 26.IV.2010. For details see also the online world catalogoe of craneflies (http://nlbif.eti.uva.nl/ccw/) |

The shape of the last vein will identify the subgenus Symplecta. |
