Is this little black fly a flat-footed fly... and if so can anyone suggest a genus/species, but no doubt they are tricky form photos. Thanks tristram; looks much more likely and I did thjnk it was probaby a small tachinid when i first saw it, and it was feeding near a Gymnosoma, but hadn't seen this little black one before.
