Macquartia tenebricosa(female) is the correct name? Thank you very much. Slovak Republik, Terchová region on the Malá Fatra, approximately 700 m above sea level 24.08.2011.

NO, the vertex is much too broad.

I'd say it is a male Meigenia

Yes, I have been catching a lot of male Meigenia majuscula recently. Of course these are male-genitalia only jobs though Wink
Manager of the UK Species Inventory in the Angela Marmont Centre for UK Biodiversity at the Natural History Museum, London.

I don't think Chris said this is majuscula and I don't think it is (the eyes seem bare)
