This is a rather poor photo, but it's all I have. I found it much too small for Lucilia caesar, but I know there's bunch of green flies. Can anything sensible be said from this photograph?

Sorry, initial photo was wrong. Try again.

Date: 29 october 2006, Amstelveen in suburban parklandscape. Visiting Ivy.

Thanks!

I would still say this is Lucilia, they can be very very small. L. caesar should occur in forests, near habitations it is not terribly common.

I'm working with no specimens available to me, so I'm a bit lost on this one. I think if it was Lucilia, the genae would be narrower (these are at least half the height of an eye), and the marginals on tergite 4 should be stronger. May be able to say more when i get back to specimens. Smile
