Coenosia (?) with head problem

Hi, In July I came across this Coenosia (right?) in a small town in southern Brandenburg. Is it possibly C. tigrina? And what can the black swelling above the antennae be? Thanks for help, Sundew Sundew attached the following image: ![]() [174.5Kb] |

It must be a ptilinum.

Ah - you think the ptilinum remained partly inflated here and did not fully collapse back inside the head. So it is not a dangerous problem to the fly, neither tumour nor parasite. Good to know! |
