Can anyone confirm my guess that this is Polietis lardaria? My guess is pretty uninformed, so any better suggestion is welcome.

29 october 2006, Amstelveen, The Netherlands. Approximate size 10 mm (I'm not so sure, but it is not a small fly). Habitat: suburban park, close to flowering Ivy.

The only point to disagree with you is speling -
correct is P. lardarius. Female.
