UK, Tachinidae, Nilea hortulana?

UK, Suffolk, mixed vegetation on sandy soil. 14th June 2011. Size 10mm approx. At first glance, this looked like Carcelia in the field but the eyes are too short. Subsequently,I've keyed it out as Nilea hortulana. --eyes hairy, crossed apical bristles on scutellum, abdomen 1+2 with median marginal bristles. Single pair of reclinate parafrontal bristles, orange palps, bristle comb on hind tibia-- Scarce in the UK, so opinions welcome, Steve sd attached the following image: ![]() [111.94Kb] |

It certainly looks like one ... I don't see many but they do crop up fairly regularly - I'd have to key it to be 100% sure but it seems to fit nicely
