Greek Tabanidae? (Result: Chrysops italicus)

Hi

I hope that some of you might be able to help me solve the id for this nice greek species.

It was photographed on the 22. May 2011 at Kalogria, Northwestern Peloponnese, Greece.

I suppose it is Chrysops sp.

I have no idea, I'm not an expert. Maybe someone else (Theo Zeegers?) will be able to give a species ID...

Very probably Chrysops italicus male.
