Hi, Recently one of my flies was IDed as possibly Pherbellia (and nothing more , http://www.dipter...ost_173431). Here is another one from same place and day, and I suppose it is a Pherbellia, too. So, dear Pherbellia experts, give me another chance, please! Seen in Austria, Tyrol, Niederthai (1.500 m) in last August. Many thanks, Sundew Sundew attached the following image: ![]() [107.4Kb] Edited by Sundew on 26-06-2011 16:30 |

Nikita Vikhrev, our Pherbelliologist, wrote me that the genus is OK but the species are unknown to him. I am as grateful as sad... |

The Pherbellia could be P. pallidiventris, but impossible to be sure wit a picture. The second Sciomyzidae is a male Tetanocera elata/phyllophora (the costa is not very "alba" ).

Ah - a Tetanocera! Another genus that was still lacking in my collection. I admit I did not reflect on the meaning of the species epithet. (In botany there are several cases that do not describe reality .) Many thanks, dear Stephane. |
