 A Tabanid species from Romania

This Tabanus species was caught at the Dumbravita Fish Ponds, Transylvania, Romania on 16 June 2011. I am doubtful that it can be reliably identified from just this image but would be grateful if someone could provide an identification if it is possible. I do have further images and the specimen. Alan, try to post the picture of frons, postocular margin, and abdominal pattern. Add length, please. Or you can send the specimen to me, if you wish to be sure. Libor |
