Given that Kokkola is coastal, one should maybe look out for the very similar M. desmometopa, it would be nice to have some photos of it one here.

The easiest way to distinguish desmometopa from lupulina is that the black at the posterior margin of the scutellem does not extend onto the surface of the scutellum in desmometopa.
