Hello, I saw this Tabanidae in Germany, Kyffhäuser at the beginning of June, the length was about 12-13 mm. Is it possible to identify the species?
Thanks a lot and best wishes, Frank

First impression was T. autumnalis, however, that is much bigger. Sure about the size ?

Do you remember if there was an eyeband ?

Thank you Theo! I´m rather sure that there was no eyeband. And the size? It might be 15 mm, but not more....
Best wishes, Frank

Next time, check the colouration of the eyes and the number of the bands,
Or, more simple, take a frontal picture.

This one will remain unidentified....
