Male Chironomini, probably Chironomus. A closeup of the sexual organs at the tip of the abdomen could help ID. |

Still probably Chironomus. This is all consistent, but the differences between genera are subtle and involve a pair of appendages that aren't visible here. Chironomus has the pronotum projecting forward in the middle with a shallow notch: ![]() |
