I think this small fly is Anthomyiidae not Muscidae, maybe Anthomyia sp. Is it possible to confirm this or even to get to species?. A long shot maybe as there must be many similar species and I only have this one pic. Too small, too windy to try for more... 31.5.11 c.5mm feeding on umbel Lesbos, Greece. nick upton attached the following image: ![]() [118.17Kb] Edited by nick upton on 07-06-2011 17:27 Nick Upton - naturalist and photographer |

Many thanks Stephen. I'm encouraged that I got to the right family/genus and know that's as far as this little fly is likely to go!
