In a quite dense forest located 30 km north of Paris, France, resting at the sun on a leaf.


I tried to key it and, starting from Cheilosia (a guess), it conduced me to Cheilosia vicina ...

I'm not sure at all : I'm a very beginner in practising a key ... so I need your indulgence !! Wink

I would suggest Ch. variabilis. Seems to have long hairs on the sides of the face. And the wings are long, and stay in a typical way for this species.
