Thank You Milos. Do You think there could be any other possibitilies or can You make sure id from this picture ? I ask, because Napomyza nigriceps would be a new species for Finland Smile

At least according to Spencer (1976) Napomyza nigriceps should have entirely dark legs and this one has p1 with a distinctly yellow knee.

I would suggest Phytomyza nigripennis, a common species in Finland in May.

I'm really far from expert with these but if You have a close look at the cross veins, You will see that the second cross-vein is present just like in figure 617 in that Spencers book. That should make a difrence between Napomyza and Phytomyza. Maybe Napomyza after all ... ?

Yes, you are right Jari, this is not P. nigripennis (only now could I check it from my collection). Sorry for my hasty speculation.

Perhaps this belongs to the Napomyza lateralis-complex where Zlobin described a bunch of new species with minor differences. Females will probably be left at the generic level.
