Could be Rhamphomyia albipennis or some of its near species - the whitish wings took my thoughts to that direction. |

Sounds plausible, however, it is a species of Empis... Cannot tell which one, though.

Of course, Paul is right, the R 4+5-fork is distinctly visible in the lower picture! I was led astray by the fact that here in Finland the whitish-winged cases in May tend to represent Rhamphomyia. |
