I thought this one looked a bit small for scolopaceus and am hoping it is something a bit different (vitripennis?) Photographed in the Brenne, central lowland France 3 May 2011. There were several individuals flying in a damp meadow bordered by woodland. This was the only photo I managed to get.

Well, in my country (CZE) I would say Rh. vitripennis without doubts. But I do not know, which another species are occurring in FRA.

Thanks Libor. One other possibility I wondered about is R. latipennis but according to FE it doesn't occur in France. It is not strigosus so far as I can tell.

Rh. latipennis is absolutely different species, I know it very well. It is very similar to scolopaceus = distinctly spotted wings!

Thanks Libor. I'm happy to go with vitripennis in that case.

I will try to fix the messages this month. We have to make some other configuration changes before software goes out of support at end of year.
