France Tachinidae Peleteria

France, Dordogne. 15th April 2011. Open oak woodland on limestone. Found on low grass of path, several Tachina cf. fera around but the strong colour of this one signalled Peleteria, despite the early date. The temperature was 28C a few days earlier.
