hello,
I found quite a lot of this pupae in sediment of a high intertidal saltmarsh along the Scheldt estuary (Belgium). This one shows the eyes of a Cyclorrhapha fly. Does anyone know of which species this could be?

Thanks for your help.

It's an ephydrid, probably Scatella or a related genus. What size was it?

Thanks for your identification!
Size of the pupa is circa 0.3 cm long and is often found in Vaucheria-vegetation accompagnied by Enchytraeid oligochaetes, the Naid oligochaet Paranais litoralis, Psychodidae (photo) and Dolichopodidae larvae.
