6.5mm, Moor Piece Wood, Clitheroe UK, 20 April 2011 On birch trunk. This one flew before I had finished with the camera. Eutrichota seems right (the long pre-alar shows well), but I have no information about the arista. E. longimana could be a good fit (moderate size, heavy dusting, fore-femur dorsally darkened), but if the arista is haired it could perhaps be E. (Parapegomyia) socculata. The key (Ackland) says nothing about leg colour for this. Can anyone help please? Stephen R attached the following image: ![]() [82.71Kb] |
