This Ulidiid is from Teneriffa, end of March. They were sitting on larger stones hiding in small holes on these stones. Does anyone know the species?
Greetings,
Gerard

An Euxesta, apparently new invasive species in Palearctics, I must take a key home. Please remind me, if I forget.

Thanks Valery, very intersting!
Euxesta is a neotropical genus isn't it? Please keep me informed about any progress about this species.

Its wing pattern and general coloration looks to be like in E. nigricans Wulp described fom Mexico and E. pacifica Steyskal described from California, but it can be, in fact, some other species of the E. quaternaria group as well, whose variability is poorly examined.

Elena recommend to leave it as E. sp. ex quaternaria group for a while.

Also, if you could take its dorsal view with normal white balance, to see actual coloration of abdomen tergites, it could facilitate ID.
