I don't know the nearctic species, but this one is quite similar to Hydrophoria lancifer. Have you this species on your checklist ?

My understanding based on a previous comment here is that H. lancifer has only three dorsocentral bristles. My fly appears to have four. It does have three postsutural. |

I think the comment you refer to must have meant three postsutural dc. They do have presuturals in addition to this (see Gallery). |
