7mm (wing), Moor Piece Wood, Clitheroe UK, 23 March 2011. Using the Stubbs test key I get to Dicranota (Paradicranota) simulans (assuming that's the name missing from the bottom of the page on the copy at Louis' site). Does this look right? Just out of curiosity: Why would you not call this stigma distinct and anal angle well developed? That would result in Dicranota (s.s.tr.) bimaculata.

Sorry to ignore your post for so long, Paul! Looking at the specimen, the stigma is very faint - it shows up much better in the photo - and there is no darkening at r-m. The curling of the wing edge gives the impression of an anal angle in the photo, but with 3D vision the curve is quite gentle. |
