I cannot put a name to this one, found in the same area than my previous Bibionidae:

http://www.diptera.info/forum/viewthread.php?thread_id=37167&pid=164497#post_164497

but two months earlier. It was much smaller than the other one.

The images don't show exactly the same specimen, but I am sure they are the same species.

Dear Piluca,

I have to disagree: this is 100 % another species (than Johannis). Look at the colouration of the hairs on the thorax and the legs.

It might be B. gineri, an Iberian speciality.

Thanks a lot, Theo!! You have helped me to put a name to two different Bibionids in a couple of days. Cannot thank you enough!

Only that I dind't make myself to understand correctly. What you say is exactly what I was meaning: the Bibionids in this thread are NOT the same ones than the one in the other post, but both images in this thread, although don't show the same specimen I am sure they are the same species (that you have identified as 'Bibio gineri'Wink.

Be prepared because I have a third Bibionid that I think is a different species from those B. johanis and B. gineri. But I promise that I won't bore you more with my Bibionids (hehehehe).

All the best

Piluca

Ah, my mistake, my apologies,

In any case, my identifications seem to be consistent

Bring the third on!
