Bibionidae for ID, C Spain

Another fly from the outskirts of Madrid. Sorry my camera cannot get more detail than this in very small creatures. Anyway this one was 'huge' compared with the other Bibionidae I usually see in the area. This was about 12 mm long. I am posting 3 different views, just in case it helps.

It is from Spain, which is out of my comfort zone, as far as Bibionidae are concered, but it really does look like the male of Bibio johannis. Theo |
