 Chrysotoxum sp. for ID, central Spain

Found this guy yesterday by a path near a lagoon. Taken in the outskirts of Madrid. Would love to know the species. Thanks in advance for any help.

On the thorax you can see the 'white stripes' of the specific name - my only doubt was that I wouldn't know about any very similar continental species. |

Thanks to you all for your input! I am sure it is a Chrysotoxum. As Lakeside said, the antenna make it Chrysotoxum. I have been doing some searching and I agree with Lakeside that might be C. vernale. But I think it can be C. intermedium too. What are the features that separate C. vernale from C. intermedium? Thanks in advance! |

Could be both species in my opinion. I don;t think the difference can be made from these shots...at least not by me

Who said Chrysotoxum intermedium ? This is C. intermedium. C. vernale has a shorter 3d antennal article.
