Back home, having spent a month in some great habitat in Zambia. Diptera sometimes suprisingly hard to come by but I do have a few interesting specimens. Still need to process these and organise my photos and notes but I thought I'd post one item at least today to get started.

This is close to Bengalia. They specialise in stealing food from ants, physically pulling items from the ant's mandibles with their pooter-like proboscis. Great to watch, but I found it hard to photograph in the field - a large worker Driver ant up the inside of your trouser leg, makes it impossible to hold the camera steadyShock
