Dear Urs,

the best thing to do is to collect the specimen and send it to some specialist in the field. Medetera are almost impossible to identify on the basis of a single picture (although the general posture reminds me a species from the M. muralis species group).

I see 3 dc, weakly convergent R and M, whitish face; all vote for Medetera senicula Kowarz, 1877
Type locality: Poland: “Südwestliche Polen”.
Distribution: Belgium, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France,
Germany, Poland, Sweden, UK, Russia: Karelia, Leningrad

Hi Igor,
thank you for the answer. Switzerland is not on the list, but we are only about 50km from the border to Germany. So M. senicula is possible, I think.
